Electro-Funk-Groove-Hop
I just talked to my parents (who are, by the way, incredibly cool), and my mom mentioned that the annual Riverbend music festival was going on in their neck of the woods. Riverbend typically has a couple of big name acts who are past their prime (I think I saw .38 Special there once), and a lot of lesser known ones who never quite reached it, but they also occasionally find a gem.
This year, LL Cool J notwithstanding, they have Infradig. Apparently Infradig is a local Chattanooga band who got their start as straight jazz, and now they do a sort of electronic groove beat jazz thing. Jazz is very hit-or-miss with me, but this is good stuff, well worth your precious time. Parts of the song I'm currently listening to remind me of a hopped-up Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
