This Is Just Another Year Survived
So I turned 33 on Saturday. Friday night, I wasn't going to be allowed to come home from work for a while because Denise, Sara and Matt were up to some shenanigans at my house, assembling my birthday present. When I got home, the basement lights were all off (one of them stays on 24/7), so I knew right away there was something down there, but I behaved and did not sneak down in the middle of the night to see. I did pretend to run down there just to elicit a shriek from D, who was happy to comply.
Josh, Sara, Matt, Denise and I went out that night to Fiesta del Sol, a mexican restaurant which was pretty damn good, where we enjoyed Tecate and fajitas and whatnot. It was low key and a really good time.
I slept until one o'clock or so on Saturday, after which we ran down to the basement to see what all the subterfuge was about, which turned out to be a ping-pong table. I've mentioned wanting one a couple of times - Nathan, one of my best friends in high school, had one that we would while away the hours on. He kicked my ass pretty regularly, but it was good fun. I suck now, but I intend to remedy that.

D had to go in to work for a couple of hours for a catering thing, so I fired up Battlefield 2 and popped some caps in strangers for a few hours until we went to eat. Bristol Seafood Grill was great. The service was phenomenal, and they sprinkled our table with little "Happy Birthday" things. I had Chilean sea bass in a beurre blanc sauce. It was excellent, although not quite as good as my dad's sea bass. We had quite a few cocktails as well, of course. Denise had mentioned several times that we'd have to return home to change clothes before the second part of the evening began, as we would probably be getting dirty. Okay? We returned home and walked in to shouts of "Surprise!" from the fifteen people who had somehow squeezed into my tiny living room. Yay!
Apparently, Denise and Sara and I'm-not-sure-who-else had been conspiring for some time, and all of my awesome work peeps were there to watch me get old and drunk, which I proceeded to do in short order. The ping pong table got a lot of use, there was a shot bar going, food everywhere, and for a little while, at least part of a live band going on in my basement. Badass. I left my camera sitting on the table, and people occasionally took pictures! Clicky for slightly bigger versions.

Anne and Josh, who once shot a man in Reno just to watch him die.

SimuArtists Aron and Jesse.

Fridge o' beer. Aww yeah, Shiner Bock.

Denise turned the Aaron Signature Model Les Paul into a cake! She rules.

Johnny and Denise. <3 this pic.

Denise explains the beer-drinking process to Beth, who already knew.

Matt, Steph, and Cwiss. Steph brought homemade sangria that I forgot to try.

Jeff, Anne, and Cwiss are relaxed drinkers.
The party rocked on until about 4:30 in the morning, pretty good for a 33-year-old. I also got to talk to people on both coasts, Jon & Sid in New York and Melissa in California. Melissa, sorry about interrupting your evening with the drunken stammering, but it was awesome to talk to you. :D
And this has nothing to do with it, but this bunneh has been hangin' out in my front yard all day. Yeah, I need to mow really badly, but look how happy it makes him?

It wasn't until I read this that I realised how much I miss hanging out with you and a few of the cruisers. I hope we'll be able to get together at CBC next time we are in TN. Happy Birthday.
Happy Birthday!! Yes we are getting old. I turn 33 this Friday (the 21st). I never forgot yours. Just too lazy to call OH.. and I don't have a phone number so maybe that's it? dunno... Anywho for my 33rd I have a brand spankin new cast on my left foot. Grace Walston tripped over the baby gate and broke two bones in the middle of my foot. Sounds & Looks like your b/day was a heck of a lot better. Miss you !!!
Happy Belated!
I hereby dedicate the Shiner Bock I drank earlier tonight in your honor.
Oh, what the hell - I'll donate every Shiner Bock I drink during the rest of this month, your birthday month, to the Honor Aaron fund.
It's not an amazing cake, but HOLY CRAP, GO DENISE!
Don't make me hit you with my cane.
In other news...
Things are unsettled on the set. How are your weekends (through June)?
