Lights! Camera! Teasers!

For those of you who recall that I was part of an indie movie shooting over the summer, teaser trailers are now up at the movie's website!

w00t!

Speaking of woot, I picked up a USB 2.0 video capture device during this week's woot-off, so hopefully I will finally be able to fulfill those dreams of transferring all of those Revolution Block shows I have on VHS-C to DVD. Keep your fingers crossed or something.

Currently listening to: "It's My Job To Keep Punk Rock Elite", NOFX

Get Us A Martini, Inchling Prince

A few days ago, I put some Gibson Jazz strings on my $150 hollowbody (the one I'm holding in the picture up top), and was so pleased with the sound, I decided I needed to bust out something kinda jazzy.

As some of you know, one of my umpteen (well, four or five) musical side projects is Light Grey Sabbath, under which moniker I intend to do big band covers of Black Sabbath songs and the like. Consider this, then, to be a precursor to all of that.

Light Grey Sabbath - Katamari Damacy (opening cinematic)

Update: Somehow, I had forgotten to put reverb and EQ on any of that. Also, I did a lot more fiddling with the dynamics on the horns. Give it another listen, if your initial impression was "c-r-r-r-r-r-r-rap!"

I have already had one report that the guitar is too low in the mix, so feel free to mention things like that if you like. That guy may've heard an older mix, I dunno. Sounds okay to me.

If you're not familiar with Katamari Damacy, it's a charming and bizarre little Japanese game for the PlayStation 2. Here's the original intro scene from which the song came, worth watching for the sheer "WTF?" of it.

Also, if you're one of the 117,448,122 or so people who use MySpace, add me, won't you? At the moment, I am my only friend, and that's just pathetic.
